In order to extend support during the COVID-19 pandemic, upGrad announced the access of the company’s ‘Live Platform’ to all colleges and universities free of cost. ‘upGrad Live’ is the company tech platform that replicates a real-time classroom learning experience by providing much greater interactivity, real-time doubt resolution, in-class concept check and session analytics to gauge live session performances. Through this initiative, upGrad is providing free access of this Live Platform to the affected academic institutes.
There have been major announcements regarding the education sector as of last week, with the closure of schools in Delhi, Bengaluru and Jammu & Kashmir, and global concerns are amplified over the worldwide increase in number of cases.
“We acknowledge the disruption in learning which learners and educational institutes face due to shut down amid COVID-19 concerns. In the past few days, we have read that many global universities have taken their classes online to avoid large gatherings. Schools and colleges in many cities in India too have been asked to shut down. To minimize the effects of this disruption, we have opened up our Live Platformto educational institutions and universities FREE of COST,” said Ronnie Screwvala, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder, upGrad.
By providing the free access, the edtech major upGrad, will be able to assist universities and institutes to seamlessly replicate their classroom online. Moreover, the company is also allocating a steadfast operations team to on board universities and a dedicated team of pedagogy experts to ensure the best execution of hosting a live class online.
Prior to the announcement, upGrad’s ‘Live Platform’ has been in use for customising learning experiences for the various programs & verticals of the company, build elements of interactivity to enhance the learning experience, and drive greater personalization using session analytics.
