Titan has been instrumental in terms of undertaking responsibility for social development and growth since its inception and undertook initiatives at various levels to ensure an end-to-end relief for all the people within and outside the ecosystem.
In response to Covid19 pandemic, Titan extended support by providing a host of medical equipment worth 10 lakh INR, for better functioning of health units under the control of Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in the District. The medical kit consisting of Pulse Oximeter, Thermal scanners, pairs of gloves, N95 masks and sanitizers were handed been handed over to the DC’s office at Tiruvannamalai to Thiru K S Kandasamy, the District Collector by the officials from Titan Company Limited.
With a strong objective to develop, empower, support and cater to the basic needs of the community, Titan has taken a step further with the adoption of Tribal ITI at Jawadhu Hills among the five other tribal ITI’s at Kolli Hills, Karumanthurai, Gudalur and Anaikatti. Titan is the IMC (Institute Management Committee) for all the 5 tribal ITI’s.
At Titan, it is believed that to educate the society at large, it is important to start with the girl child in the country. Carrying the same philosophy, Titan has undertaken the initiative to empower disadvantaged girls in Tamil Nadu with quality education and the initiative is a part of Project Titan Kanya in Chengam and Jawadhu Hills blocks of Tiruvannamalai.
Titan has also initiated the Tribal women development in 5 villages of Jawadhu Hills block by creating Jawadhu Hills Women Entrepreneur Federation with the aim to provide livelihood and help in generating income through various activities. Under the umbrella of Corporate Social Responsibility, Titan has undertaken a number of initiatives to empower girls by providing quality education, and women by creating sustainable livelihood.
