Jain Irrigation’s African foray gets a boost with the PM’s visit

Jain Irrigation Systems - LogoPrime Minister, Narendra Modi’s recent visit to South Africa will give a boost to economic cooperation between India and the African nations.  The PM’s delegation for the African tour included several Indian entrepreneurs like Mr. Atul Jain, Joint Managing Director, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd.

Jain Irrigation has built extension services to offer technologies to farmers in various parts of the world including the US and the Israel.  The company has developed technology suitable for farmers with small land holdings as well as for those that have very large land holdings.  The company is now known the world over for drip irrigation and tissue culture and there is tremendous potential for these technologies in Africa.

Mr. Atul Jain, Joint Managing Director, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., said “We have experience in providing drip irrigation technology in various parts of the world and we see tremendous opportunity in Africa”.  Speaking in Durban, Mr. Atul Jain said, “We are grateful to the Prime Minister Modi for his untiring efforts in promoting India’s image abroad.  This will be highly beneficial to Indian companies looking to do business in Africa.”

In South Africa, the Indian Prime Minister’s delegation was welcomed by the Minister of International Relations & Cooperation and Minister of Small Industries of South Africa.  Prime Minister Modi also had discussions with South African President Jacob Zuma.

It is hoped that this visit will lead to greater cooperation between the two nations.
