Using Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online proctored testing software, PMP candidates can now take their exam online at their convenience
Starting today, Project Management Institute (PMI) is now offering project professionals the ability to schedule and take their Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam online from their home or office. The PMP exam now joins two other PMI certification exams professionals can take online: the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exams.
Candidates will take the exam online using Pearson VUE’s OnVUE online proctored testing software. Like center-based testing, online proctored testing requires candidates to be monitored by a proctor. However, the proctor will be offsite and will monitor candidates live through their device’s microphone and webcam with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Candidates will still need to schedule their online exam ahead of time, but appointments are offered 24/7 so candidates can find a time convenient for their schedule.
“At PMI, we are constantly striving to provide the best possible solutions to our members and certification candidates,’’ said Dr. Srini Srinivasan, Managing Director, PMI India. We are now providing online proctored testing that will allow candidates to take their PMP exam from home under specific conditions, and also have flexibility of scheduling it at their convenience. This effort, which will have a long-lasting positive impact on the PMI testing experience, would not have been possible without Pearson VUE’s expertise and partnership.”
In addition to the AI-assisted, live remote proctoring, which includes the proctor’s ability to immediately end a session if misconduct is detected, PMI and Pearson VUE have implemented a rigorous data forensics program to identify and act on misconduct and other validity issues. Additionally, all candidates must complete a virtual self-check-in process, which includes AI-enhanced identification authentication and face-to-photo matching.
“This agreement is testament to Pearson VUE’s online proctoring platform, OnVUE, in meeting the strict requirements of PMI, the world’s leading association for project management professionals,” said Eric D’Astolfo, vice president, business development at Pearson VUE. “We’re proud to now add the PMP certification – recognized as the gold standard for project management professionals – to the other PMI certifications for which we provide online exam delivery. We are pleased to offer a solution that enables candidates to continue forward in the pursuit of their certifications during this time.”
