The maximum city is gearing itself to host yet another season of high fashion for Lakmé Fashion Week’s Summer Resort 2017 in association with AJIO.com. In its 18th year, Lakmé Fashion Week unveiled a stellar line-up of shows, designers and creative presentations and concepts in a digital curtain raiser on its social media portals today. Going live on Facebook from JioGarden, Manish Malhotra, Purnima Lamba and Jaspreet Chandok began the reveal for the season and spoke of how the event will be bigger and better as it moves to the iconic JioGarden at Bandra Kurla Complex.
Anita Dongre, Tarun Tahiliani, Monisha Jaising, Narendra Kumar, Ritu Kumar, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Abraham & Thakore, Aneeth Arora, Falguni Shane Peacock, Payal Singhal, amongst others have come together to present the best of the fashion industry through innovative and inclusive collaborations. These and many more will be showcasing their collection from the 1st February to the 5th February 2017, at an all new venue- JioGarden, Mumbai.
Since its inception, Lakmé Fashion Week has set its sights on new trends, strived to promote young talent, taken the lead on the digital front, kick-started fresh conversations on beauty and has transformed India’s premier fashion week into a global platform. This season too will witness a perfect amalgamation of upcoming talent and the industry’s most established names that will set an unparalleled benchmark of inclusivity, diversity, creativity, technology and fresh energy.
This season’s model audition in Mumbai was highly successful and five fresh faces were selected to walk the ramp including Anjali Lama, Nepal’s first transgender model.
International talent at the Lakmé Fashion Week includes Petr Nitka, the first gender neutral model; Varsha Thapa, supermodel who has walked International runways and International make-up artist and LFW’s official make-up expert, Donald Simrock will make a return at the upcoming season of Lakmé Fashion Week after a successful session last season.
