The Delhi School of Communication Steals The Edutainment Show 2016

The Edutainment Show 2016, Delhi Chapter, took place at Eros International, Nehru Place on 7th and 8th May. This exhibition covered the media, communication and design education sectors. Most institutes in these domains had a presence here.

DSC’s stall displayed the basic ecosystem under the theme – “#CreativityUnplugged@DSC”. The focus was on different activities that the students were involved in, in the last academic year, the basic offerings made by DSC in the flagship 2-year course, short-term courses, workshops and the alumni who are in leadership roles today in the industry, making a difference. Education material – brochures, leaflets were also available for enquiries.

The article authored by Prof. Ramola Kumar, Dean, The Delhi School of Communication – ‘Power of New Media’ was published in the handbook. She also presided a panel discussion on ‘Brand Communication in Digital Era’ at the Edutainment Show. The Panelists included experts from the industry such as Ratno Rudro, Director - Creative at Brandcurry Communications, Sarbajit Sarbjana, National Creative Director of Quasar Group M and Sameer Aasht, Founder & Director at Alma Mater PLC.

Prof. Ramola Kumar kicked off the discussion by explaining how the consumer is still ‘King’ and how the new age consumer (C) is on a different plane, always connected. She also pointed out how brands should avoid Digital Darwinism, leverage Brand Empathy and accelerate the engagement rate. “There is a need to know where ‘C’ is spending their time in the digital arena,” she pointed out. Prof. Ramola Kumar also highlighted the importance of Zero Moment of Truth (ZMOT), Crowd Sourcing, and going ‘hyper local’ in this age of digital communication.
