The team Tech Panthers – The Shri Ram School, Aravali gets an all paid trip to Dubai and entry in International Robotronics Competition Internationals
The annual International Robotronics Competition (IRC) – India’s biggest science and technology competition held at The Thyagaraj Stadium, Delhi. Presented by the Avishkaar Box, is the culmination for student teams who participated in qualifying rounds (called IRC Qualifiers) held in different states across India. The competition was designed to drive student interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The enthusiasts of IRC Qualifiers kicked off from Delhi and traveled the length and breadth of India covering Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu with the last qualifier held in Sikkim.
In this eight season of IRC League, 15 IRC Qualifiers were held where over 500+ Schools and 15000+ students participated in 3 different categories – Junior, Middle and Senior Level. Students exhibited stellar performance and a healthy competitive spirit. The top 9 winning teams from each Qualifier (3 in each category) have successfully made it to the IRC League – National Finale. Some more teams have made a foray into the IRC Nationals as wild card entries.
The Avishkaar Box has been hosting state-level inter school robotics competition from the past eight years and hosted it this year too.
This event witnessed a high energy competition between top 150 teams that were winnowed down from 4000 teams. Over 6000 students’ put their custom-built robots (made from Avishkaar Box E-Series kit) to the test at the respective Problem Statement Arena. The Problem Statement Arenas was based on the theme TOMORROWLAND.
The problem statement for junior category was titled “To build a pair of Wired or wireless Robots that can automate the Construction of Tomorrowland.â€Â The task for Middle group was to build two manual Robots (wired or wireless) and a Programmable Robot that can assemble a car in the Assembly unit while Senior Group category were given problem statement titled “To build a pair of Programmable Robots that can manage the delivery and categorization of goods within a warehouse.â€
The winning teams in each category were chosen based on their performance and accuracy. The team Tech Panthers – The Shri Ram School, Aravali declared winner in junior group. In Middle category, the team Checkmate- G.D. Goenka School, Rohtak won the competition while in the senior category, Team Robotex – Indraprastha World School, Pashim Vihar declared winner. The top scoring team in each category was adjudged as the winner. The team Tech Panthers – The Shri Ram School, Aravali declared overall winner secured first rank and will go to Dubai. The score was calculated as per the Scoring Rubric by eminent panel of Judges by Avishkaar Box. The winners of the Nationals will get a DIRECT entry into the IRC League Internationals to be held in Dubai in 2018. Not only this, they will also be getting a SPONSORED* trip to Dubai for IRC League Internationals.
