ITC Limited has bagged the first prize in 4 categories at the prestigious Public Relation Society of India (PRSI) National Awards 2016. ITC received the awards for its outstanding communication initiatives, which have reached out to a large group of external stakeholders. The Company won the first prize for its Sustainability Report in the “Sustainable Development Report†category, for its Corporate Website in the ‘Portal innovations through mobile, tablets and apps’ category; the “Best CSR Project for Women’s Development†award for a film made on ITC’s Ultra Poor Women Empowerment initiative at Tribeni; and the “Best Private Sector Organisation Implementing CSR†prize for its CSR publications and articles.
ITC Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Nazeeb Arif, was also conferred the PRSI National Leadership Award-2016, the highest award of the society, for his invaluable contribution to the field of Corporate Communications and Public Relations in India. The awards were presented at the 38th all India annual conference of PRSI, held in Kolkata on December 16, 2016.
The PRSI National Awards recognise outstanding contributions by organisations and demonstration of industry leadership in the fields of Public Relations and Corporate Communications. They endeavour to raise the performance bar of Public Relations and Communications in India by fostering healthy competition among corporates. The award winners were selected by a distinguished jury.
The PRSI is the national association of public relations practitioners and communication specialists in India. The society has 25 chapters spread all over the country with members drawn from public, private and service sectors as well as government and academic bodies.
