Students of Sankara College of Optometry took part in an intercollegiate event called Reflektionz in a view of promoting solidarity across cultures
Sankara College of Optometry, Bangalore held “Reflektionzâ€, a two day intercollegiate festival for students of optometry. Over 300 students from 12 colleges of optometry across Karnataka, Andra Pradesh and Kerala and participated in a host of 20 competitions.
The chief guests of the event were director of Sankara Academy of Vision and Mr. Aditya Goyal, Principal of Sankara College of Optometry along with Mr Vivek Mendonsa, President of ASCO and director of Lawrence and mayo and Famous Kannada actor, Mr.Pratap Narayan who were a part of the event.
Highlight of the event was face painting and a host of events ranging from literary, performing arts to creative competitions, photography, JAM, quiz, classical/ contemporary dance, singing and ethnic parade were performed and the event was a grand success.
Professor Ravi Kumar, director of Sankara Academy of Vision was the chief guests at the valedictory function held and he said to the students to “Look beyond the condition at the person who is coming to them for treatment. As allied health personnel it is essential for you to remove the fear of the person and improve his vision.â€
The festival provided young students a fantastic platform to showcase their talent as well as compete with peers from various colleges across South India. This festival also provides a real life learning platform to the students as they are involved in it right from planning to execution.
