The Taste of Summer festival
Food is one of the best things about summer. The scorching heat makes anything cold extra refreshing. There’s just something special about consuming cold milkshakes and ice-creams on a warm evening. India’s premium lifestyle food superstore,flags off ‘The Taste of Summer’ festival – an epicurean adventure dedicated to summer flavours and recipes.
As part of ‘The Taste of Summer’ festival, Foodhall’s demo counter will have a live Gazpacho station, a summer favourite with cold soups like Cucumber and celery gazpacho, Classic spanish gazpacho, Asparagus & basil gazpacho and Melon mary gazpacho. One can sample these soups or alternatively sip on some unique summer coolers like Kokum and chia cooler, Jalapeño lemonade, Honey dew & tender coconut juice and Rose petal iced tea. To keep up with the soaring temperatures, Foodhall has just introduced the DIY Sundae Station with Waffle cups & cones, Stroop waffles, Lemon & coffee merengue drops, Pistachio, Pine nut and paprika nougatine and Almond & star anise nougatine.
The summer season is synonymous to mangoes. Making the most out of the ‘King of Fruits’, Foodhall is whipping some new flavours & recipes with mangoes. The patisserie section at Foodhall is assorting a few mouth-watering desserts such as Mango charlotte, Mango macaroon, Chilled mango & lime ricotta cream and Mango tart. Alongside, Foodhall also has delicious yogurt parfaits such as the Blueberry yoghurt parfait and Peach & mango yoghurt parafait.
To expand its breakfast category, Foodhall has launched its latest concept called ‘Breakfast in a bottle’ wherein the beverage inside the bottle is a meal in itself. There are some extremely nutritious and healthy options to choose from – Almond Milk, flax seed and banana option and Oats berries & Greek Yoghurt at the store.
Among the range of salads, Foodhall’s live kitchen will be serving appetising choices such as – Purple corn and kale salad, Glass noodle salad, Zucchini carrot & beetroot salad and Mixed melons & feta salad. With ingredients such as beetroot and kale which are high in antioxidants and nutrients, these are some great summer options for the healthy eaters. For the meat lovers, Foodhall will have the Mixed melons and parma ham salad and the Parmesan pesto chicken salad.
Summers broadens the kaleidoscope of cheeses. Summer is the time when certain cheeses are specially produced. This summer, Foodhall will be storing a variety of cheeses such as Sundried tomato and basil bocconcini, Marinated feta and olives in fresh herbs and Zaa’tar labneh. Several light cheeses such as Feta, mozarella, boconccini, quark, ricotta, goats cheese, chèvre, brie and mascaporne will also be available. Foodhall also has the Burrata cheese, the quintessential summer cheese enjoyed with fresh cherry tomatoes, argula/rocket leaves or herbs.
