During the talk, Prof Palhan discussed the role of Mind in Self –effectiveness as compared to acquired skills. He expressed that, “effectiveness comes through action/work done; every action is done in two phases. At first, creation of any work takes place in the mind as a thought process and the second phase is its implementation through suitable skills. Further, he emphasised that work is possible only in the present moment. Therefore, the mind must be in the present moment when action is taking place. The problem with the mind is that it wanders a lot in the past and future and it remains in the present moment for a short period of time. The mind can be trained to live in the present moment through the structured process of meditation.†The talk also highlighted the role of meditation for Self –effectiveness and creativity which was followed by the brief session of meditation.
The participants found the session very enriching and fulfilling with most of them inspired to practice meditation to have its benefits in personal as well as professional life.
