UBM India, the largest organizer of jewellery fairs in India, announced the launch of its premium international B2B jewellery fair in South India – the Chennai Jewellery & Gem Fair (CJGF) today. It is scheduled to be held between 19th – 21st October, 2018 at the Chennai Trade Centre. The expo will be well-supported by the prominent jewellery association\u00a0–\u00a0Chennai Jewellers Association<\/b>\u00a0and is anticipating to attract 200+ exhibitors and over 1,000 luxurious jewellery brands.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The announcement was held at Taj Coromandel in the presence of key dignitaries, Mr. Yogesh Shah, Director, Chennai Jewellers Association;\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Uday Vummidi, Director,Chennai Jewellers Association; Mr. Sultan Mohideen, Director, Chennai Jewellers Association; Mr. Jitendra Vummidi, Director, VBJ;\u00a0Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India and Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee, Group Director, UBM India.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\"UBMThe CJGF owes its origins to the GJIIE, a show that UBM India has nurtured as the gateway to the Indian jewellery market, particularly in South India.\u00a0 In its refurbished avatar, UBM India\u2019s new jewellery show in Chennai will truly provide an international experience, based on the organizer\u2019s proven expertise in understanding local, national and global markets.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The expo will be studded with a number of world-class features such as Luxury Pavilions, Seminars, Workshops, Panel Discussions, Retail Jewellers Awards, Hall of Fame, and Fashion Shows — to be graced by key stakeholders and celebrities.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The expo will be an excellent platform for jewellery wholesalers, retailers, importers and exporters, jewellery manufacturers, diamond, gemstone, pearl suppliers and traders, precious metal and jewellery mounting traders and suppliers, machinery manufacturers and representatives from various trade and governmental organisations, to come under one roof to meet, connect, network and grow their businesses. \u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

In addition to Tier I, II and III cities in India, the exhibition will have delegate representations from Singapore, Bangladesh, Nepal, Middle East, Singapore and Malaysia\u00a0among other countries, reinforcing the expo\u2019s position as a proven and trusted sourcing hub of the industry.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The CJGF is one of the five-city jewellery shows (Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi) that will be hosted throughout the year by UBM India. Internationally, UBM plc organises the World\u2019s Biggest Jewellery Trade Event – The Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch of the CJGF, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said,<\/b>\u00a0\u201cWe are excited to launch a new show in the midst of all the action in the Chennai market with a fresh new and decidedly more international format. The market size of the gems and jewellery sector in India is expected to reach US$ 100-110 billion by 2021-2022. And despite economic challenges, India\u2019s jewellery demand is estimated to at 573.3 tonnes in 2018 up 14 percent from last year, which bodes well for the market.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n

He added,<\/b> \u201cSupported by quality conscious customers, corporate branding, modern retail formats, and evolving design, the gems and jewellery segment is not just expected to outpace others in domestic sales, but create a deserving and viable industry platform which the CJGF is geared to provide.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/i><\/p>\n
