American India Foundation (AIF) and Coca-Cola India launches SMS\u00c2\u00a0Mission Recycling to Sensitize School Children on Waste\u00c2\u00a0Management and Recycling<\/h3>\n

The program takes the success of SMS Mission 1000 to the next level by increasing the scope of\u00c2\u00a0positive impact to 11 lakh children in over 5000 schools<\/h4>\n

Coca-Cola India along with American India Foundation (AIF) today launched the SMS Mission Recycling\u00c2\u00a0with the aim to sensitize children from over 5000 schools on waste management after realizing a\u00c2\u00a0successful Support My School (SMS) Mission 1000 schools. The project seeks to contribute towards the\u00c2\u00a0government\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cleanliness mission and will focus on proper collection and segregation of waste including\u00c2\u00a0Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET).<\/p>\n

\"Coca-ColaThe SMS Mission Recycling initiative aims to promote better waste management practices through\u00c2\u00a0adoption of efficient collection and segregation methods to facilitate recycling. Aligned to the\u00c2\u00a0Government\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Swachh Bharat, Swachh Vidyalaya (Clean India Clean Schools) Mission, the programme\u00c2\u00a0will also be looking to setup or facilitate waste management systems in communities as well as\u00c2\u00a0schools.In the first phase of the program, Coca-Cola India has partnered with the American India\u00c2\u00a0Foundation (AIF) to positively impact an estimated 11 lakh children in over 5000 government schools\u00c2\u00a0nationwide and over 1 lakh community members on the long-term benefits of proper solid waste\u00c2\u00a0management.<\/p>\n

The first edition of Support My School had a positive impact on over 3.5 lakh school children in more\u00c2\u00a0than 1000 schools across the country. During this journey, thousands of toilets, urinals and wash\u00c2\u00a0stations were revitalised and hundreds of playgrounds were established in disadvantaged schools.\u00c2\u00a0Support My School addressed the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) needs and\u00c2\u00a0contributed meaningfully to the government\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcSwachh Bharat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 drive, and the\u00c2\u00a0revitalized schools now serve as model schools in several districts.<\/p>\n

Interventions such as these are\u00c2\u00a0important to address the broad socio-economic gap and educational inequalities in our country. The\u00c2\u00a0impact seen in 1000 schools through this campaign has been extremely satisfying.<\/p>\n
