QAD and Quistem have teamed up to develop specific guidelines to\u00a0help automotive manufacturers\u00a0prepare for the restart of their operations<\/a>\u00a0during the COVID-19 pandemic.\u00a0These guidelines feature 13 key topics\u00a0that automotive suppliers will need to address in order to align their operational restart with their customers in the automotive supply chain.<\/p>\n

“With our focus on automotive manufacturing customers,\u00a0we teamed up with\u00a0Cathy Fisher,\u00a0president of Quistem, a global expert in automotive management systems, to put together specific guidelines to help automotive suppliers get their facilities up and running\u00a0during\u00a0the COVID-19 pandemic,” said QAD Director, Automotive Terry Onica. “We recognize organizations are currently receiving a lot of guidance about protecting their employees from the\u00a0COVID-19 virus.\u00a0However, for quality product and delivery to their customers,\u00a0additional detailed focus on 13 key aspects of their business will contribute to a successful restart.”<\/p>\n

The Operational Restart Readiness Checklist covers the following topics and provides detailed checkpoints related to each:<\/p>\n

  1. Contingency Plans<\/li>\n
  2. Inventory<\/li>\n
  3. Immediate customer delivery requirements<\/li>\n
  4. Immediate delivery plan including transportation<\/li>\n
  5. Supplier inventory and near-term delivery plan<\/li>\n
  6. Availability of outsourced processes<\/li>\n
  7. Temporary process changes due to virus risk reduction actions<\/li>\n
  8. Product\/process requalification plan<\/li>\n
  9. Accuracy of work instructions<\/li>\n
  10. Workforce availability and training<\/li>\n
  11. Equipment, tooling\u00a0and\u00a0gauging restart risks and maintenance<\/li>\n
  12. Facility infrastructure<\/li>\n
  13. Communication plans to all stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
