Hero MotoCorp, the world\u2019s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, is further\u00a0enhancing its multiple initiatives towards the COVID-19 relief efforts, by manufacturing\u00a0and distributing sanitizers to the authorities and people in the under-privileged section of\u00a0the society.<\/p>\n

The Company has already distributed over 5,000 liters of sanitizers as part of this initiative.\u00a0The sanitizers are being produced at the Company\u2019s manufacturing facilities in the country,\u00a0where production of two-wheelers was proactively halted on March 22, 2020 to ensure the\u00a0safety and wellbeing of employees.<\/p>\n

For the past three weeks, select employees from the production and CSR teams of Hero\u00a0MotoCorp have been engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of these sanitizers,\u00a0which are being made as per the guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research\u00a0(ICMR).<\/p>\n

Hero MotoCorp has also distributed over four lakh (400,000) protective face-masks
\nalready. In keeping with its spirit of innovation, the Company has developed 60 firstresponder\u00a0mobile ambulances that will be distributed to authorities for use in the rural and\u00a0remote regions of the country. It has also donated 2000 motorcycles to various authorities\u00a0across the country for use in relief efforts.<\/p>\n

The canteen kitchens at the manufacturing facilities of Hero MotoCorp across the country\u00a0have been involved in preparing meals for the community. The Company has already distributed over three lakh (300,000) meals, with more than 15,000 meals being\u00a0distributed everyday to stranded laborers, daily wage-workers, and homeless families in\u00a0several areas of Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.<\/p>\n

Hero MotoCorp has also distributed over 6,000 ration kits in the states of Rajasthan, Delhi,\u00a0Maharashtra and Kerala and plans to keep the initiative running.<\/p>\n

The Hero Group has committed a corpus of Rs 100 Crore (US$ 14 million) as aid for the\u00a0ongoing COVID-19 relief-efforts in India. Half of this sum, or Rs 50 Crore, is being
\ncontributed to the PM-Cares Fund and the remaining Rs 50 crore is being spent in other\u00a0relief efforts.<\/p>\n

The BML Munjal University – run by the Hero Group at Dharuhera in the state of Haryana in\u00a0India – has offered its 2000-bed hostel for use as an isolation & treatment ward by the local\u00a0health department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
