{"id":10704,"date":"2019-10-16T17:45:50","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T17:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yourchennai.com\/?p=10704"},"modified":"2019-10-16T17:46:03","modified_gmt":"2019-10-16T17:46:03","slug":"pista-paan-diwali-special-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yourchennai.com\/index.php\/2019\/10\/16\/pista-paan-diwali-special-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Pista Paan &#8211; Diwali Special Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>By Mr. Vijesh Modi (Sr. Sous Chef) &#8211; The Deltin, Daman<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>For Pistachio Barfi<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pistachios 1 cup<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Milk Powder- \u00bc cup<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Corn flour -1 tsp<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Powdered sugar -1 tbsp<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Edible green colour 4-5 drops<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Condensed milk -2 tbsp<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Cardamom powder- \u00bc tsp<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>For Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">2 tbsp pistachios blanched, peeled and chopped<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2 tablespoons almonds, blanched, peeled and chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">2 tablespoons walnut, chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">4-5 drops Kewra essence<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">1\/4 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">a few saffron strands(optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Place a small size pan over medium heat and add the shelled pistachios.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Roast the pistachios at medium low heat by continuously flipping so that they don&#8217;t get burn. Now let the pista cool down and then grind them in mixer to a fine powder.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">You may sieve the powder to get rid of any bits of pista left. Roasting helps to grind the pista into fine powder.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now let the pista cool down and then grind them in mixer to a fine powder. Mix it well; add few drops of edible green food color. Add 1 tbsp of condensed milk.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mix it with hand, it will turn into crumbly texture; again add 1 tbsp of condensed milk. Now you will be able to form dough. If not add little more condensed milk. Chop the dry fruits and set aside.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a small pan take 1 tsp of butter or ghee (clarified butter) on low heat, add 1 \u00bd tbsp of condensed milk and stir it. Add chopped dry fruits, cardamom powder and kewra essence. Stir for 1 minute and turn off the heat.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now keep the filling mixture aside. Now roll out this dough in between 2 sheets of plastic till it is 5 mm. Cut 12 squares pieces, you may roll again the scrap pieces or enjoy them as pista barfi<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meet the centre point of pieces and join the other half part of barfi. Press it firmly to give a conical shape.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Divide the filling into 8 equal portions. Fill it in the cones with the help of a spoon and garnish with silver leaf and chopped pistachios.
