As part of its EFCS (Employee First Customer Second) philosophy and an endeavor to work for the betterment of supply chain community, HCL Foundation organized the â€˜BAL MELAâ€™- an annual cultural event institutionalized to support staff and their families & children at HCL SEZ Campus, Sector-126, Noida. The support staff included security personnel, transport staff, housekeeping staff, cafeteria personnel and other third party paid staff. The one-day cultural event was organized to provide an opportunity for the support staff to let their hair down for a day and to showcase their artistic and creative abilities and to interact
with HCLites.Â It was a day of fun, games and treats for the support staff being organized annually as they play an important role in ensuring that HCLites work in a safe and supportive environment. They are a key part of the fabric that make up the workplace and support employees in doing work in the best possible manner, every day, all year long.
HCL Foundation also awarded education scholarships to meritorious students of the support staff and Gurukul students, under â€˜My Scholarâ€™ project. My Scholar is a core project under Urban CSR with funds raised from employeesâ€™ contribution under â€˜Power of Oneâ€™. The exclusive scholarship programme aims to support the education of children for both higher secondary as well as professional education, whose parents/caregivers income levels is less than INR 2.4 lacs p.a. The target beneficiaries are children from HCL Foundation Project areas, children of HCL support staff including housekeeping, transport, security and other third-party paid staff. It is an inclusive step towards achieving a sustainable career development for students from weaker economic backgrounds. The HCL employeesâ€™ contribution of INR 1 a day now helps students with limited financial access to pursue their higher education and attain gainful employment. The objective is to render financial and mentorship support towards the education of the children of HCL support staff who study in Government, Government-aided or Private schools and to encourage students who are meritorious, talented and hard-working but lack the means to study further.
